The sleight of hand for the last week in Albany, NY has been not only the reportage on the great things Sen. Jeff Klein and Dean Skelos will do for us with ‘Coalition’ government in Albany, NY, but the Editorial fraternities almost universally scripted editorials on its possibilities. I mean I’ve combed through NY State, and these Editorials sound like they came of a crib sheet, which had a highlight that read, “We’re just fascinated by the possibilities to pass ‘Progressive’ legislation in the Senate, and secondly how the ‘Coalition’ will also save us from the chaos we all abhorred in the past. Give Cuomo credit without even having to call these Barons of print media and thought, they read the fax and printed it verbatim. I mean it’s uncanny these editorials readlike something Gov. Cuomo and Sen. Klein and Sen. Dean Skelos wrote for them.
If it weren’t so important I’d be laughing about it, but there’s a little matter concerning the Democratic Voters of a good many districts, having their Senators marginalized inside the NYS Senate. And of course to me a very major issue is the Governor of the State of New York, Andrew Cuomo repeatedly lying through his teeth, about his behind the scenes involvement in making this ‘Coalition’ government a reality in the first place. You’d think one, or two of these Editorial groups in NNY, would at least focus on that aspect of the ‘Rise of Coalition Government’ in NYS. I have to say it strikes me odd this Universal expression of the same Editorial insight, about the ‘Progressive possibilities of Coalition Government’ at the very time, a lot of very 'Progressive Minority Senators' feel shut down by the whole shady process.
The fiscal cliff crisis has kept MSNBC reportage at bay for now. The Governor has gotten a near free pass, in most newspaper publications. There are some I won’t mention here, but a few reporters are made of the right stuff. They tell the story and express the courage of their convictions, without slanting the news on the NYS Senate Story. I say thank-you for putting it on the line. We need writers who understand the importance of a voting process with a hint of integrity left in it in NYS. Where a citizen can vote for a candidate and expect him to honor the party he belonged to at the time of the election. We’re seeing Sen. Jeff Klein lauded for selling out his fellow Democrats. We’re seeing Sheldon Silver, described as an asset to good government in NYS, while he remains an obstacle to justice for woman. We’re seeing Dean Skelos sell out Mike Long and the Conservative Party, who he romanced so intensely, to hold power for a few months more. We’re seeing pirates wreck our State Government and Editors lauding them for doing it and for me that’s seeing to damn much
